JR Lay is the Built Authority Coach for founders.
His own founder story began when he left his punk rock band as a college sophomore to start what would eventually become a seven-figure business serving banks and credit unions.
But early success came with a cost. Behind the scenes, JR battled addictions while his health, marriage, and family began to suffer.
A season of hard questions forced JR to rethink how he was living, eventually leading him to publish his first bestselling book, launch what would become a top 3% podcast, and speak around the world as one of the most recognized voices in financial services.
That body of work grew into another seven-figure business that was eventually acquired.
Through more than 25 years of entrepreneurship, JR came to believe that your story is the foundation of your authority. What you’ve lived shapes how you think.
